Following up on last year’s very successful Emergency Preparedness Expo, a new preparedness based company Free Food 2 Go is sponsoring a preparedness event the first weekend this April. The expo will play host to a wide range of well know presenters in a variety of preparedness subjects as well as an expo hall for vendors, all at the UVU campus. This is the second year for this particular event which saw 1,500 attendees in 2011. This year the expectation is 2,500 to 3,500 attendees.
Free Food 2 Go, the expo’s overall sponsor appear to be a vaguely MLM/Co-op plan for food storage. As the sponsor, they will obviously have plenty of information prominently featured. However, if MLM sales pitches turn you off remember that while featured, they are just one of many vendors at the event. With the number of vendors and experts on hand this should prove to be a great chance to get hands-on with many of the suppliers and products discussed here on UtahPreppers.com and in other preparedness circles.
One item of note is that LDS AVOW members make up a large portion of the presenters. This means that they will undoubtedly be subject matter experts on their given subject. However, this also means that many of these presentations maybe targeted more towards the extreme prepper/survivalist rather than the casual prepper or someone just starting to get involved in prepping. Don’t let this put you off though, this expo is bound to provide a wealth of information for preppers at any level.

It says in this article that it’s being held at UVU; all expos there are in the big center by the freeway where they do the basketball games.

have to be honest…wasn’t quite as impressed with this expo as I was the Self Reliance expo in Sandy in the fall…still had some interesting presenters though.
Curious as to how the Expo went this week. We are based in Florida (a little far for us to travel) but might entertain the idea of working with someone to set up an expo in our area. Would like to know how well it was attended, the reaction from the vendors and any additional insight which might help us. –Lee J.

I saw in 2009 that you did a group buy for vertical water tanks. Do you still do those? If not where is the best place to buy something like that? I’m looking for at least 250 gallon tank. Thanks Erin C.
We’ve done a couple, but they are usually driven when an author or reader wants to run the buy, or else a manufacturer or reseller is willing to promote a deal. I haven’t seen anybody offering a deal recently, but maybe one of the stores that reads this would be interested again?
